We enjoyed the craft beers and great food. The BLT was amazing, not the bacon you are expecting! Try the cheese curds...not heavy. Will be going back and trying more items.

We received a warm reception when we entered. Upon being seated, they bring out warm, buttered garlic popcorn, which is amazing. The owner is obviously a Hawkeye fan, and an old Ford truck fan, so bonus points there. The kids looked playing the FREE video games near the restrooms. Restrooms were clean. The burger was a bit dry. The mac and cheese isn't overly cheesy in flavor. Fun presentation of good onion rings. Busy ambiance, cool farm decor. Soft, hot french fries. The dessert options looked good, but we were too full!

This was our first experience: I came to grab our take out order - the process they had set up was incredibly efficient. I got home, handed out our meals....my husband ordered a burger (he loves a good burger), opened the lid and....it was pretzels 😔. So I called hoping to get a refund or credit, his computer I was not cooperating and while talking to JD, the general manager, he learned it was our first experience with them - HE offered to bring us the correct order. We're in urbandale so it's a small jaunt. I am floored by his customer service. This guy CARES about making it right. The food was excellent and we will definitely be back. Really looking forward to when it's possible to enjoy a beer and meal in the restaurant 😊. A+++ You've gained a loyal customer 😉

Great variety of beer from Barn Town and good food. Burgers are great. Be sure to ask for extra napkins if you order the s'mores dessert. It's delicious but messy. Shuffleboard and plenty of TVs to watch games. There is a kid menu and it's family friendly.

Haven't had a bad experience here yet!! Been several times now and the food is AMAZING. The 55 burger is like a big mac but FRESH and huge SO GOOD. I was told all burgers are fresh and never frozen Chance has been our bartender almost everytime and he is fantastic and perdonalble and really knows his beer. Will go above and beyond to keep.you happy.

The buffalo chicken sandwich and the pastrami sandwiches are both excellent. The onion haystack were also very good but I would recommend having at least 5 people to share them with. We didn’t realize how much we would get and only had two people. Wish there was a half order. The beers they make are definitely special. Very delicious! Highly recommended.Went there again and got their wings. Also delicious.Update 12.2. This place never fails to be delicious. I got here at least every couple of weeks. Always spot on.Another update 1.28.20. They updated their menu and let me tell you. This place is still knocking it out of the park. This is a must try place.2.23.20 I know I keep editing this place but I swear they deserve all the good reviews I can enter. The food is always excellent and the beer is to die for and the service is always on point!

Yo! This ole barn vibe packs a punch with fun beers, including a variety of NEIPA action, sours, and adventurous one-offs! Live music, family friendly, fun ambiance, but what really sets this place apart is the excellent food! Lots of options, brunch hits, and more! Chicken & waffles look unreal!

Great service! Great food! And most importantly, great beer! Ingredients are locally sourced when available, and they brew their own beer. Ashley was a great server for us! Across town drive for me, but worth it. Will come back!

I went here for a date night with my wife. There was seating immediately outside, but as it was hot we wanted to wait for an inside table. The wait was only about 10 minutes so tolerable. The tables are somewhat close together so we ended up sitting next to a couple with kids. We like to try various beers so we started out with a flight to try. A couple of the beers were serviceable, but non really tripped our fancy. Our favorites were probably the "Iowa Gold" and the "Get up, Get Down". To eat I had the "Brewer Burger" and my wife had the "Crab Rangoon Chicken". The burger was good with the egg being down perfectly for a sandwich. I felt like the bacon steak was too sweet and didn't fit in well with the flavor profile of the rest of the sandwich. The chicken was good, but not what my wife was expecting. She didn't feel like it tasted like she would expect for something with Crab Rangoon in the title. Overall, This place was good not great.

I’ve been dying to go to Barn Town! Started with Brussels, a groovy ruby for him & rain for me. Pickle tickle (which was surprisingly delicious & refreshing), as a perfect pair for my sandwich, the slow burn with chicken. He had the Chicken Rangoon sando which was also amazeballs. A haze sesh IIA grange ville d’Abricot while we discussed dessert...Finished with the turtle skillet cookie duh!Highly recommend all around!

Traveling on business and had to check this microbrewery out. Got their at 8:00 they close at 10:00. Bartender seemed more interested in leaving then taking care of his bar. Asked for a sample of a beer & got charged $4.00 for it (what a surprise). Solid food and beer, just not the best staff!!

Well, I love Barn Town! We make it a point to go there whenever we're in Des Moines. I'm a fan of many good beers, and they brew many good beers. But it doesn't stop there. Their food is as good as the beers. If you're in town, go to BTB, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you Barntown for a great experience. Our first time here. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food. Had the Mac n Cheese Waffle with Fried Chicken. First time I'd had Mac n Cheese as a waffle.and it was delicious. Also had the Skillet Mac with Bacon Steak. Wife loved it. Started with the Pretzels, Onion Strings, and a Flight. Thinnest onions I've ever seen. Pretzels were dark and slightly chewy. Had the Real Slim Shady, You're Killing me S'mores, Enamored Amber, and P B & J. Beers were ball delicious. You and taste the chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers in the S'mores. Great lemon flavor without being overpowering in the Slim Shady. Finished with the Skillet Cookie. The 0erfext finish. Server was attentive and always there when we needed her. Plenty of TVs, perfect for Sunday football. We will be back for sure.
